An Exclusive Interview with Miss Photogenic 2016

Nkechi Favour Is one of the queens of PwoAfriq. In this interview with Don Dahunsi, the CEO of Campus Icon Awards, the queen speaks on life as a queen, the challenges faced with being a queen and her view on rape among other issues.
Excerpts:_

Good evening ma, could you please let us meet you in a brief statement?

My names are Udek Nkechi Favour I'm one of the Queens of PwoAfriq Miss Candor Awards 2016 popularly known as Miss Photogenic.

What was the experience like being among the queens of PwoAfriq?

So many experiences Sir, One is always trying to look good during a photoshoot, having a new nick which has spread all over. I can proudly say that it has been fun and am so happy to be one of the queens of Pwoafriq.

Any memorable or special achievement(s) during your reign as Miss Photogenic of PwoAfriq?

Sure , the funniest one was during PwoAfriq September Special Outing , I was told to use a crown and band to take a picture in public , people were staring as if they saw a ghost.

I can only imagine that. You recently celebrated your Birthday as a queen, Share your thoughts on that notable day with us?

Wow .. Pwoafriq made my day on that memorable day, they celebrated me on the group by using one if pictures as the group icon and Facebook was so much  filled with my pictures, they made me feel very special on my special day.

If you have a second chance of being a queen again in this community, will you take it? If yes;
Which crown would you like to wear?

I prefer convincng others to fight for the crown and join PwoAfriq than becoming a queen again because I believe that the more people join us, the more we become popular, the growth of the group actually matters alot to me more, especially now am one of the Queens of Pwoafriq.

As a Female and a Queen what's your view on rape and rape victims: Cause, Prevention and Control?

For the cause, I think the cause primarily is the indecent dressing of our young ladies this days, the way they dress attract the guys.. Some guys are also selfish. The Prevention, I think the  ladies should learn how to dress properly and if any guy is caught in the act , the guy should be dealt with thereby serving as a lesson and warning to others.

Thanks!

FASHION DEBATE: HEELS OR FLATS?

Hello my lovely fashionistas, I hope the year has been good to us. Well let's get down to the business of today. Do you constantly have this internal debate with yourself, wondering what to go for, Heels or flat. Well, I do this like all the time , I mean all the time, I ask myself questions like "Comfort or A nice leg line?". Do I really sacrifice style when I'm wearing flats, which will look well on me. Well guess what? I took my time to do a research study / survey on"HEELS OR FLATS" at Ikeja, Lagos, (precisely underbridge). So I asked some ladies on their preferences and here's what they had to say about the matter.

Janet (22) Medical Student: Um, Flats obviously, I mean you can do anything wearing them.

Tonia (20) Art Student: I just love heels, infact high heels (Smiles), they always make me look fabulous

Tope (26) Student: I only keep heels for occasions such as parties, I would go with flats any day, anytime.

Wunmi (23) Student: I prefer heels o, I mean they make me standout and make me taller. I don't joke with heels.

Amaka (29) Stylist: I would go with heels , I'm always driving and the only way to make an entrance, which I really love doing is to get down from that porsche car with my heels. No try me o. I love attention.

Mariam (22) Clerk: Who has time for flats, heels on point. Is there anything lady that does not have a heel, let me buy for you(smiles). Heels makes me taller and even slimmer.

Blessing (24) Wardrobe Stylist: Well, I don't wear heels everyday, but Biko heels o. They always give the finishing touch to your outfit.

Tomi (19) Student: I like walking and sight seeing a lot. So I would go with Flat shoes any day which means I don't get sore feet.

Ayo (32) Supervisor: Any of the two would actually be cool. I work in an office, so really any one that complements my outfit that's what I would pick.

Vanessa (21) Model: I love heels, in my line of work I have to be taller, slimmer and even elegant. Well I think heels gives you these three things

Chidinma (25) Make-up artist: I've always preferred being comfortable and can't stand shoes that don't fit well or are difficult to work with. I would choose flats.

Oge (21) Student: Heels all the way, whatever you wear heels always complement it by making you taller, slimmer and even giving you a nice leg line and in some case it makes your waistline appear tiny. I'm not even that tall, so why would I waste my time with flats. Besides what a flat shoe does a heel can do better. I know some of the ladies response made you crack up, cauae I did

With all this information, I still can't come to a conclusion on which is the best, but I can say this though, wear whatever suits you, wear what you can handle and rock it to the fullest. You can add your comments below, so I know what you also think about it. As usual keep up with the blog to be updated. How To Turn Simple Mementos Into Meaningful Art

As someone who works for a framing company, I always like to say, “Empty walls are sad walls.” Or, put another way, “Full walls are happy walls.”

Studies have actually shown that surrounding yourself with beautiful art has emotional benefits, stimulating the same parts of the brain that fire up when you look at someone you love.

If you’re reading this and realizing you’re not quite that enamored with your current wall décor situation, there’s no need to run out and buy a whole new batch of photos, paintings, and screen prints. Chances are, you already have a treasure trove of begging-to-be-framed items hiding in your house right now.

A frame and mat can elevate those meaningful artifacts currently tucked away in drawers—tangible embodiments of our passions, travels, memories, and life experiences—into works of art that will brighten up your life every day.

Get ready to see seven objects that you probably already own in a new light.

1. Scarves

Put a frame around that colorful (albeit hard to integrate into your wardrobe) scarf that you inherited from a great-aunt or scooped up during your travels, and voilà! You have a fun, large-scale image that you can enjoy every day.

Pro tip: Be sure to examine the fabric for any stains or spots first and take it to a dry cleaner if necessary.

2. Memorabilia and keepsakes

Why keep your most important memories in a shoebox to gather dust? That vintage pennant from your alma mater or the first dollar bill your business earned should be out on display for the world to see. Keepsakes often make for gorgeous pieces of art, and hanging them allows you to relive the sentimental moments they represent on repeat.

Case in point: My company was recently commissioned to frame a library card from a children’s book that had special meaning for the librarian who discovered it.

3. Maps

Detailed topography adds a nice design element to any room and always invites closer examination. Consider giving a second life to that atlas you love so much, framing an old map to remember an amazing trip you took, or spotlighting a new city that you're dying to get to one day.

4. Press clippings

If you're in a business that gets a lot of press, custom-framed newspaper and magazine clippings preserve a record of your proudest moments. And trust me, on those challenging days in the office, you’ll be grateful for the visual reminder of your accomplishments!

5. Greeting cards

My friends all know I’m a stationery fanatic, so I often receive cards in the mail that are way too pretty to toss. If you’re with me on this, consider framing some of those beautiful cards that you’ve held on to over the years.

6. Vintage photographs

A treasured vintage photograph—whether passed down in the family or scored from a cool flea market—feels authentic and refreshing amid the sea of virtual images we look at on our phones and computers all day long.

7. Children’s artwork

If you’re a parent (or grandparent, aunt, uncle, or godparent), you’ve probably saved some favorites from your child’s portfolio over the years. The carefree, abstract nature of children’s artwork adds an exciting energy to any space, and your budding artist will be so proud to see their work on display. While my 8-month-old son, Miles, is in the very early stages of his art career—food is still his medium of choice at the moment!—I can’t wait to frame some of his creations when he gets a little older.
